Making pasta from scratch is a fun and rewarding experience that anyone can enjoy. While it may seem intimidating at first, the process is actually quite simple and requires just a few ingredients. In this blog post, we’ll teach you how to make several types of pasta, including spaghetti, fettuccine, and ravioli.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups of flour
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil (optional)
Equipment:
- Mixing bowl
- Rolling pin
- Pasta machine (optional)
Spaghetti:
- In a mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt.
- Make a well in the center of the flour mixture and crack the eggs into the well.
- Use a fork to gradually mix the eggs and flour until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
- Cover the dough with plastic wrap and let it rest for 30 minutes.
- Divide the dough into four portions and use a rolling pin or pasta machine to roll out each portion to your desired thickness.

Fettuccine:
- Follow the same steps as above for making the dough.
- Roll out the dough into thin sheets using a rolling pin or pasta machine.
- Use a pasta cutter or knife to cut the dough into wide strips.
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the fettuccine for 2-3 minutes or until al dente.
Ravioli:
- Follow the same steps as above for making the dough.
- Roll out the dough into thin sheets using a rolling pin or pasta machine.
- Use a ravioli cutter or a glass to cut out circles of dough.
- Place a spoonful of your desired filling (such as cheese, spinach, or meat) onto one circle of dough.
- Place another circle of dough on top and use a fork to press the edges together, sealing the filling inside.
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the ravioli for 3-4 minutes or until al dente.
