Biryani: An Authentic Indian Dish That Will Transport Your Taste Buds

Instructions:

  1. Rinse the rice in water until the water runs clear. Soak the rice in water for 30 minutes.
  2. Heat oil in a pan, add bay leaf, cloves, cinnamon, and cardamom. Sauté for a few seconds.
  3. Add the onions, garlic, and ginger, and sauté until the onions are translucent.
  4. Add the cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, and red chili powder, and sauté for a few seconds.
  5. Add the mixed vegetables and sauté for a few minutes.
  6. Add the yogurt, mint leaves, cilantro leaves, and salt, and mix well.
  7. Add the soaked rice and 3 cups of water. Bring the mixture to a boil.
  8. Reduce the heat to low, cover the pan with a lid, and simmer for 20-25 minutes or until the rice is cooked and the water is absorbed.
  9. Fluff the biryani with a fork and serve hot.
