Grilled Tofu with Peanut Sauce is a delicious and easy-to-make vegan dish that is perfect for a summer barbecue or a weeknight dinner. The dish consists of marinated and grilled tofu that is served with a rich and creamy peanut sauce. The peanut sauce is made with peanut butter, soy sauce, lime juice, and spices, making it a flavorful and satisfying dish.
Ingredients:
- 1 block of firm tofu
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon of rice vinegar
- 2 teaspoons of sesame oil
- 2 teaspoons of grated ginger
- 1 teaspoon of sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon of red pepper flakes
Peanut Sauce:
- 1/2 cup of peanut butter
- 1/4 cup of soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons of lime juice
- 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon of grated ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
- 1/4 cup of water
Instructions:
- Drain the tofu and press it to remove any excess water. Cut the tofu into 1/2 inch slices.
- In a shallow dish, combine the minced garlic, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, grated ginger, sugar, and red pepper flakes. Add the tofu slices and marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- While the tofu marinates, make the peanut sauce by combining the peanut butter, soy sauce, lime juice, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, cayenne pepper, and water in a small saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the sauce is smooth and heated through.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Grill the tofu slices for 3-4 minutes per side, or until grill marks appear.
- Serve the grilled tofu with the peanut sauce on the side.
