Bauernfrühstück

Bauernfrühstück, also known as Farmer’s Breakfast, is a traditional German breakfast dish that typically consists of potatoes, bacon, and eggs. It is a hearty and filling meal that is often served in taverns and pubs in rural areas of Germany.

Ingredients:

  • 4 potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 6 strips of bacon, diced
  • 4 eggs
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional: diced onion, chopped parsley

Instructions:

  1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the bacon until crispy.
  2. Add the diced potatoes to the skillet and cook, stirring occasionally, until the potatoes are tender and golden brown.
  3. Crack the eggs into the skillet and cook to your desired doneness.
  4. Season with salt and pepper, to taste.
  5. Optional: add diced onion and cook until softened, or sprinkle with chopped parsley before serving.
  6. Serve hot and enjoy!
