Salsiccia e Broccoli

The dish is a simple and flavorful combination of tender broccoli and savory sausage, typically sautéed with garlic and olive oil. The sausage used in the dish is typically a sweet or spicy Italian sausage, and it’s cooked until it’s browned and slightly crispy on the outside. The broccoli is typically blanched or steamed first and then sautéed in the same pan with garlic and olive oil. This dish is a hearty and comforting meal that is perfect for a weeknight dinner or a casual get-together.

  • 1 pound of Italian sausage (sweet or spicy)
  • 1 head of broccoli, cut into florets
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup of olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the broccoli florets and blanch for 2-3 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the sausage and cook until browned and cooked through about 8-10 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.
  4. Add the broccoli and sauté until tender and starting to brown, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Add the cooked sausage back to the skillet and stir to combine. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Serve and enjoy your Salsiccia e Broccoli!

Optional: you can add a splash of white wine or chicken broth to the skillet for extra flavor.
